We have used Ky-Ko roofing twice now to repair our roof. A recent monsoon storm damaged a bunch of tiles on our roof. Several roofing companies stopped by our house to give estimates. The prices they quoted were outrageous. I called Ky-Ko and Kyler came out to give an estimate and his estimate was very reasonable. I felt he was very professional and kind. Both times that my roof was repaired I worked with Kyler. He definitely cares about quality. The guy that came out to repair the roof was very professional and did an awesome job. I met with Mark this morning. He was on time for our appointment and quite professional. After checking my roof, he advised me of a small issue that should be addressed in the near future that involved an existing skylight. The actual reason for the visit was because I thought I might add one of those “whirlybird” devices to help vent the attic. After actually getting on the roof, he advised that I already had a “ridge vent”, so there was no need to go there. I asked his opinion of adding a whirlybird. His response was that over time they seem to fail and since I had the ridge vent already, it may not really be needed. Clearly, I felt he was giving me an honest opinion, to which I appreciated very much. After all, why spend the extra money if not needed? I would recommend this business if asked.

Also known as ‘composition’ shingles, this material is made from a mixture of asphalt, minerals, and a cellulose mat. This type of shingle is affordable, relatively durable, and an attractive option.

Fiberglass shingles also contain asphalt, but have a fiberglass base mat instead of the cellulose mat. This is a tough, durable, and exceptionally popular type of shingle used on homes across the Valley. In general, we’ll typically recommend fiberglass shingles: while they are more expensive, they hold up better in our hot summers and offer greater water and fire resistance.
