Sam Ricci was my sales representative. I had a list of what I wanted and didn't want on my new roof. I also had a few questions. Sam was patient and knowledgeable about everything.

My home has both exterior siding and block. Sam helped me find a roofing color and style to match both. It's a clean, sharp look. Sam is GREAT!

David and Sergio were the supervisors here. They're EXCEPTIONAL people. They and their crew removed my old cedar shake roof and installed a new plywood deck in two days! The new shingles, vents, standpipe collars, etc. took another day and a half.

Whoever did the clean up around the house at the end of EVERY day did an EXCELLENT JOB!

We used Ky-Ko many years ago. The foam roof they installed did not need maintenance for 16 years. We had them out to repair a few small tears in the foam and to recoat. I met with Mark this morning. He was on time for our appointment and quite professional. After checking my roof, he advised me of a small issue that should be addressed in the near future that involved an existing skylight. The actual reason for the visit was because I thought I might add one of those "whirlybird" devices to help vent the attic. After actually getting on the roof, he advised that I already had a "ridge vent", so there was no need to go there. I asked his opinion of adding a whirlybird. His response was that over time they seem to fail and since I had the ridge vent already, it may not really be needed. Clearly, I felt he was giving me an honest opinion, to which I appreciated very much. After all, why spend the extra money if not needed? I would recommend this business if asked.

I had one tile that I knew was an issue and KY-KO was very clear what their minimum cost was (which was much lower than 2 of their competitors'). I agreed to the minimum cost for the repair and while they were on the roof they checked other tiles and repaired them at no extra cost. A week later a tile I could see from the ground was cracked and needed to be repaired. They immediately stated they would fix it as something they may have missed. I have no idea if it was them although I know I was extremely satisfied with how they conducted their business and stood behind their work.

Just so you know, the person that did the original estimate came off of the roof and stated he loved our roof. He saw what needed to be repaired and told me the roof could last another 30 years. I am a roofing moron and he could have told me anything. KY-KO is in the business for the satisfaction of their customers and not the satisfaction of their wallets.

What are foam roofs?

As the name implies, foam roofs—also known as spray-foam roofs, or SPF roofing—do contain foam. This foam is typically sprayed onto the flat roof’s surface until it forms a solid, even layer that adheres to the roof structure. This thick foam layer is then sealed with an elastomeric coating that protects the foam from the elements.

Foam roofs are a popular choice for residential and commercial roofing projects due to their high energy-efficiency, their longevity, and their ease of installation. They are an equally perfect fit for both large commercial warehouses and small retail buildings with flat roofs.

What are foam roofs made of?

1. Elastomeric Coating

This tough, water-resistant membrane is designed to guard the foam layer beneath from UV radiation, moisture, and other exposure to the elements. Think of your foam roof coating as the shield that protects the insulating foam beneath.

2. Polyurethane Foam

A closed-cell high-density type of insulation. This foam layer is by far the thickest part of the roof. It blocks the transfer of heat from the outside to the inside of the attic, and is what gives a foam roof its energy-efficiency.

3. Adhesion

A seamless layer of foam is fully adhered to the surface, covering the entire area.

4. Bonding

The coating forms an adhesive bond with the foam, resulting in superior protection against moisture penetration.
