Kyko Roofing did a great job. Very nice folks who work for there. I have an old foam roof that needed re-coating and they did a great job. Other companies would not do this job because they didn’t install the roof but Kyko did. It will be Kyko when the time to re-coat comes around.read more

Great job. Kudos to estimator, power washer, coating guys, and final inspector. Checked with another company and KyKo was cheaper. Good recommendation from friends who used them. Showed up on time, did the work, cleaned up nicely. Only issue was that I have three antennas on roof, one of which had a grounding wire they had to disconnect to do the job. They could not figure out how to reconnect that wire at the end. I have recommended they clearly mark such issues and take photos when they undertake future customer jobs. All in all happy. Course it hasn’t rained much yet…..–jimread more

It took me six months to make the decision whether to fix a portion or to replace my entire roof and thanks to Kyler Hopper I went with KY-KO Roofing for replacing the entire roof. I’ve contacted a total of six Contractors in my search and I found Kyler to be the most honest and qualified, but still competitive. I recommend to everyone, especially in Sun City, needing replacement or repair. You’ll be as happy as I am, I’ve been here 25 years.read more

What is foam roofing?

Also known as spray-foam roofing, or SPF roofing, foam roofing is an energy-efficient, durable, long-lasting roofing material used for both residential and commercial roofing projects.

This helpful diagram shows how foam roofs work and the different layers that offer protection to the roof structure.

Foam roofs are built out of multiple layers. First, polyurethane foam is sprayed onto the roof surface. This foam forms an insulating layer that helps slow the heat transfer process—this is what makes foam roofs so energy-efficient!

Next, an elastomeric coating layer is applied. This foam roof coating shields it from the elements and protects the entire roof from sun, wind, and water damage.

The result? A durable, enduring roof that will protect your home or business for decades to come. Foam roofs need only infrequent maintenance—a foam roof reseal every five years or so—to keep them going strong.

Here are the advantages of foam.

Energy-Efficiency

Working in tandem with your attic insulation, foam forms an insulating barrier that prevents heat from getting in during the summer and escaping in the winter. It’s incredibly efficient.

Common Issues We See

Ponding Water: Water pooling or ponding on the flat roof due to inadequate drainage, which can lead to structural damage and leaks over time.
Leaks and Water Intrusion: Water infiltration through seams, flashing, or damaged roofing materials, causing interior water damage and compromising the building’s integrity.
Blistering and Bubbling: Formation of bubbles or blisters on the surface of the roof membrane, potentially leading to membrane degradation and leaks.
Membrane Damage: Tears, punctures, or deterioration of the roofing membrane, compromising the roof’s waterproofing capabilities.
Cracking and Splitting: Cracks or splits in the roofing membrane or underlying materials due to thermal expansion and contraction, aging, or structural movement.
Flashing Failure: Deterioration or improper installation of flashing around roof penetrations (such as vents, skylights, or HVAC units), leading to water infiltration and leaks.
Poor Installation: Faulty installation of a flat roof system, including improper sealing of seams, inadequate flashing, or using low-quality materials.
UV Damage: Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun causing degradation of roofing materials over time.
Vegetation Growth: Accumulation of debris, leaves, or vegetation on the flat roof, providing a breeding ground for mold, algae, and moss, which can compromise drainage.
Sagging or Depressions: Sagging or depressions in the roof surface due to structural issues, inadequate support, or improper installation, leading to water pooling.
Mechanical Damage: Damage to the roof membrane caused by foot traffic, equipment maintenance, or other activities, resulting in punctures, tears, or abrasions.
