Prepping your roof for the foam
We’ll either remove your old roof material or, in many cases of old foam or shingles, simply apply the foam layer over it, sealing it.
Applying the foam
This foam layer is sprayed onto your roof as a liquid. It quickly dries and solidifies, forming a solid, durable, and energy-efficient layer.
Applying the coating
Finally, as we do on every project, we’ll do a final quality assurance to make sure the roof is completely sealed and protected.

We’ll next apply the high-quality, durable exterior coating that will protect the foam underneath. This creates a waterproof seal.
Foam Roof Layers
The foam roof has two primary layers. They’re applied in this order:
Polyurethane Foam
This is the primary material used to form the foam roof. This closed-cell, high-density insulation is adhered to the roof, forming a complete, tight seal against it.
This insulating foam helps prevent the movement of heat between your attic and the outside, keeping your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Elastomeric Coating
This coating goes over the polyurethane foam, completely sealing it from the outside. This coating is specially formulated to be waterproof and resist the constant bombardment of UV rays onto your roof.
There may be other coating options available, depending on the type of roof you have.
Maintaining your foam roof
Over time, it’s relatively easy and low cost to have this coating touched up by a professional roofer, allowing your roof to protect your home for years with no change in performance. We offer foam roof reseal services here in the Valley.
In total, a foam roof should last between 35 and 50 years, making it far more durable than shingle roofs and comparable to tile roofing.
